Vancouver Fashion Week - Fall 14 Collection in Review
VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK DAY 4
I love when designers switch it up, and so you do, don't kid yourself. Papillon did just that in a way that you couldn't help but smile. The models walked down the runway smiling, playfully posing and waving to the crowd at they exuded the go-lucky attitude Papillon associates with their audience. Featuring intricate printed dresses and mini hems for miles, Papillon focused on modern, detail-oriented pieces made for an elegant women in mind. - Jessica Luxe

Papillon showed an interesting range of pieces -- including some print dresses that were very current and wearable for the spring season. If someone is interested in fashion and wants to support local designers, a piece from a line like Papillon will easily fit into your basic wardrobe. Raj Thandhi – March 22, ‘13

Papillon – Vancouver- and LA-based designer Papillon was one of my favourites from VFW Spring/Summer 2012 and tonight she didn’t disappoint. I wanted just about every dress she sent down the runway, which ran the gamut from printed daywear to sequined nightwear. The tailoring was impeccable, but the biggest draw was that the collection was incredibly playful and feminine. There was also a sense of cohesiveness despite the many lifestyles and colours that she used throughout the collection. The models also made a point to smile at the end of the runay, which was refreshing after some of the darker collections from earlier in the night.
Beauty: The models came down the runway wearing romantic side ponytails and fresh, classic makeup. – Corrie Peters March 24, ‘13

Papillon’s designs were extremely 1950's retro inspired. There was a lot of metallic gold, silver and gunmetal colours used for her playful line. Most pieces were body hugging with a high attention to detail. The lines were well executed and the fit of each piece was tailored specifically to a woman’s voluptuous curves. Prints were retro inspired and had a lot of geometric shapes and bold colours. There was two tone colouring for the most of the outfits with Papillon using predominately blues and purples for the second portion of her collection. The line was extremely fun, bold, playful and flirty. - Falisha Ali March 25, 2013

Sweet, trend-savvy and totally wearable, Papillon presented a collection of dresses that could easily jump straight off of the runway and into your closet for spring. From beach to evening, this stripped, faux wrap dress would transition perfectly. Simone Paget
